Etrian Odyssey V: The End of the Long Myth was released in Japan yesterday on August 4, 2016, and Japanese sales blog ore-no-web4th (which had previously hinted at Persona 5‘s release date) expects it to be the best selling game in the series.

Similar to Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City and Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan, the sell-through rate—i.e. the percentage of sales from the original shipment—for Etrian Odyssey V during its first day on sale in Japan was 60%, which is considered good.

As a result, the blog expects EOV to eventually reach a total of about 200,000 copies sold in Japan, which would make it the highest selling release in the series thus far.
