Persona 5 Ranks #2 in April 2017 NPD Sales, Biggest Debut of the Series in North America

The NPD sales results—tracking U.S. game sales on a monthly basis—have been released for the month of April 2017, and Persona 5 was the second best selling game of last month.

Additionally, according to NPD analyst Mat Piscatella, Persona 5 had the biggest debut for the Persona series by far in the United States:

Persona 5 experienced the strongest debut month for any title in Persona franchise history, with packaged dollar sales five times that of the previous best-selling debut, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4.

Previously, it was reported that Persona 5 had debuted at the top of April 2017’s PlayStation Store downloads in North America, and that, as of April 5th, 2017, the game had shipped more than 1.5 million copies worldwide.

Persona 5 had topped the UK sales charts for its opening week, and it had also topped sales charts in Japan.
