Atlus has announced that the sci-fi adventure game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim has achieved over 1 million copies sold worldwide (including digital copies sold) ever since its initial release on November 2019.
13 Sentinels had sold over 500k copies in November 2021, and it had reached the milestone of 800k copies sold a year later in November 2022.
The Nintendo Switch release in April 2022, along with the “Value Pack” released in Japan in August 2022 helped propel sales after the game’s first launch.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim initially debuted in Japan on November 28, 2019 with 35k sales, with director George Kamitani expressing regret at the middling performance. Since then, the game had gained strong word of mouth and has continued to sell.
To celebrate the milestone, the Nintendo Switch version of the game has been discounted by 50% on the Nintendo eShop. Additionally, a special commemorative illustration has been shown by Vanillaware cartist Yukiko Hirai.
