13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Famitsu Review Score: 38/40, Detailed Impressions

The Vanillaware developed sci-fi dramatic adventure game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will be releasing in Japan next week, and this week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine #1616 includes the review for it, among other games.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Review Score

  • 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (PS4) – 9/9/10/10 [38/40]

Comments from the Famitsu reviewers include:

  • Adventure and Battle have been created as a single game.
  • The battle system takes time to get used to, but once you do, you’ll enjoy intense RTS combat.
  • The scenario is excellent and the 2D graphics are amazing. I could hardly believe it.
  • Since the story deals with multiple time periods, a nice side effect is that it contains elements that appeal to both current teenagers as well as the NES generation.
  • The commitment to the investigation segments and their boldness suprised me whenever I saw a new scene.
  • Everyone will experience a unique story as they play through the character segments, battle segments, and adventure segments with the same degree of freedom.
  • The combat, with a focus on defending, is compelling. Being able to choose the difficulty level also makes it easy for those who want to solely focus on the story.
  • I felt a sense of wonder that swayed the heart of a so-called old, jaded gamer.
