Atlus x Vanillaware’s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim was released in Japan last week on November 28th, and sales tracker Famitsu Sales reports that 34,608 copies of the sci-fi adventure game were sold during its first week.

This Famitsu estimated sales data for 13 Sentinels in Japan are of sales ranging from November 25 to December 1, 2019.

Earlier in the year, sales for the “Music and Art Clips” demo bundle version of 13 Sentinels had been a relative indication of the full game’s sales potential, with its debut of 6k copies sold in Japan.

13 Sentinels has been through a lengthy and troubled development cycle due to how unorthodox it is compared to other games Vanillaware has developed in the past. With its more niche appeal compared to the usual side-scrolling action game and as a new IP, fewer sales than those titles were to be expected.

It remains to be seen how the sales will affect priority for 13 SentinelsEnglish localization, which had been announced in June 2017.
