Amazon Sending Free Copies of Persona 5 to Those Whose Orders Were Cancelled

Earlier this month, some users reported that online retailer Amazon had cancelled their Persona 5 pre-orders for the “Take Your Heart” and “SteelBook” editions. The reason customers were given for the cancellations was that the items contained “regulated materials classified as dangerous goods.”

Atlus USA subsequently issued a statement, declaring that the claim of dangerous materials was false, and that those whose orders had been cancelled would need to contact Amazon for further support.

Today, members of the NeoGAF message board are reporting that they have received an email from Amazon, apologizing for the mistaken cancellations of their pre-orders and stating that they will be sent a free copy of the game as compensation:

Others, however, are receiving $5 credit from Amazon instead, possibly as the compensation for a cancellation of a SteelBook edition and not the “Take Your Heart” premium edition:

Persona 5 was released for the PS3 and PS4 in Japan on September 15, 2016. It was released for the PS4 in Traditional Chinese on March 23, 2017. It will release in North America and Europe on April 4th, 2017, and in Korean in 2017.
