Atlus Japan has recently filed three different video game related trademarks for “Atlus Games,” “Atlus Studio,” and “Studio Atlus.”
All three trademarks relate to the following Japanese trademark classifications:
- Class 9: Video game software for dedicated video game consoles.
- Class 28: Arcade video game machines and video game consoles.
- Class 41: Electronic publishing for entertainment locations.
Atlus Games
- Application Number: 2017-66416

- Applicant: Atlus Corporation
- Application Date: May 11, 2017
- Class: 9, 28, 41
Atlus Studio
- Application Number: 2017-66417
- Trademark: [image]
- Applicant: Atlus Corporation
- Application Date: May 11, 2017
- Class: 9, 28, 41
Studio Atlus
- Application Number: 2017-66418
- Trademark: [image]
- Applicant: Atlus Corporation
- Application Date: May 11, 2017
- Class: 9, 28, 41
While it is possible these trademarks were filed by a different “Atlus Corporation,” it is unlikely they would have been registered by the Japan Patent Office based on how they would conflict with Atlus’ already existing video game trademarks for their company name.
What these trademarks would be used for is unknown, and so is the matter of them surfacing in any real way in the future.
Previous Trademarks
The most recent Atlus related trademarks registered in Japan were for Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, with two different trademarks filed by Sega Games in March 23, 2017.
