The latest game in the Etrian Odyssey series and the last for the Nintendo 3DS, Etrian Odyssey X, was released yesterday and it is already selling out in Japan.
Atlus has posted a notice acknowledging and apologizing for the shortages of the game. Atlus states that they will do what they can as soon as possible, and recommend customers either reserve the game to get ready for the next shipment, or purchase the digital version of Etrian Odyssey X.
The cause of these shortages is due to a reluctance from retailers to stock a new Nintendo 3DS title, as well as the devoted Etrian Odyssey fanbase.
On the Nintendo eShop, Etrian Odyssey X took first place among the top 10 most downloaded Nintendo 3DS games from July 26 to August 1, 2018.

Additionally, it will have promotional illustrations, illustrations by guest contributors, and a development interview.
