During the special announcement live stream for Metaphor: ReFantazio today, it was confirmed for the first time that the upcoming fantasy RPG will have a simultaneous worldwide release in 2024.
It was previously leaked that Metaphor would be released for the PS4, PS5 and Steam in addition to Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, and today’s live stream has officially confirmed those release platforms.
In October 2018, Sega stated their intention to further simultaneous worldwide releases while particularly mentioning the Atlus West localization team. Persona Team general producer Kazuhisa Wada also expressed his desire to share Persona news with the West faster in December 2019.
Now, the push for worldwide simultaneous releases for Atlus games is apparent, with Soul Hackers 2 and Shin Megami Tensei V being two recent, major games which have had them, and Persona 5 Tactica, Persona 3 Reload, and Metaphor: ReFantazio which will have simultaneous global launches in the future.
