The “Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards” is one of the largest user-voted game awards in Japan, produced by the Famitsu and Dengeki media outlets. The award ceremony for the 2022 edition took place on March 18th, with 23 categories in total (with 21 of them being user-voted).

Atlus’ Persona 5 Royal was given one of the awards that are not user voted: the “Magical Lovely Award.” This prize is named after the “Magical Lovely” Japanese comedy duo (consisting of Crystal Noda and Murakami) who select the winner.

Persona 5 Royal won the “Best Music” category in the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2019.

Persona Series Producer and Director Message

As with the other winners, an acceptance message was sent for the awards ceremony. This one is by Kazuhisa Wada, the producer and director of the Persona Team.

I’m Wada, the Persona Team producer at Atlus. Thank you very much for the Magical Lovely Award! I want more people to know about Persona and play it! We are very honored and happy to receive such a wonderful award for Persona 5 Royal, despite it being the remastered version! On behalf of the staff, I would like to express our sincere gratitude.

I’m also personally happy that our title was chosen by [Crystal] Noda, a devoted gamer and comedian who I love and respect very much! I would like to work hard to create more interesting games, so please continue supporting the Persona series in the future! We also released the remastered versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden in January this year, so if Persona 5 Royal has piqued your interest in the Persona series, please give them a try!
