Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers Achieve Combined Sales of 1 Million Copies in Japan and Asia

Alongside today’s “PlayStation Awards 2020 Japan Asia” annual award show, which awarded Persona 5 Royal with the “Partner Award,” Atlus has given a sales update for the two most recent Persona games.

Atlus has announced that Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers have both surpassed 500,000 units sold each in the Japan and Asia regions. This makes for a total of more than 1 million sales for P5R and P5S in Japan and Asia as of December 3, 2020.

Persona 5 Royal

Persona 5 Royal was released for the PlayStation 4 on October 31, 2019 in Japan, and subsequently on February 20, 2020 in Asia and March 31, 2020 in the West.

The game sold exceptionally well. It debuted with 201k copies sold in Japan, and reached 400k copies in Japan sold a month later in December 2019. Persona 5 Royal topped sales charts in Taiwan and South Korea, and achieved record sales in the West.

The last previously released milestone for Persona 5 Royal sales worldwide was 1.4 million copies sold as of July 22, 2020.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers was released for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch on February 20, 2020 in Japan, and subsequently on June 18, 2020 in Asia.

The game sold very well, debuting with 162k copies sold in Japan, and topping sales charts during its first week in Taiwan and South Korea.

The last previously released milestone for Persona 5 Scramble sales worldwide was 480k copies sold as of July 22, 2020.

Recently, Sega Sammy’s Japanese Annual Integrated Report 2020 confirmed that the Persona series had sold over 13.1 million copies as of March 2020.
