
The remastered version of Persona 5 Royal was released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC and Steam on October 21st. A little more than a month later, and Atlus has announced that the game has achieved over 1 million copies sold worldwide on the aforementioned platforms.
The stated number of 1 million copies sold includes the total number of shipments for the physical version of the game, as well as digital downloads worldwide.
Including the original version of Persona 5 Royal released on the PS4 on October 31, 2019, P5R as a whole has achieved 3.3 million units sold worldwide as of the end of November 2022. With Persona 5 having sold 3.2 million copies as of December 2019, P5R is rivaling the original game’s sales.
Additionally, as of the end of November 2022, the Persona 5 series (including Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Strikers, and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight) has sold 8.3 million units worldwide. The total sales for the Persona series has now surpassed 16.8 million copies worldwide.
Japanese Accolades Trailer
To commemorate the remastered version of Persona 5 Royal reaching 1 million copies sold, Atlus has released a Japanese version of the previously released “Accolades Trailer.”
The latest milestone for the Persona series’ sales was 15.5 million units worldwide as of the end of March 2022. This means the series has sold approximately 1.3 million copies in the past 8 months.
The previous update for Persona 5 Royal‘s sales was 1.8 million copies sold on June 30, 2021.
