The Persona 4 Arena sequel that was first shown at a location test last month was finally announced today as “Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold.”
This update or sequel to Persona 4 Arena that has three new characters added so far—Junpei Iori and Yukari Takeba from Persona 3 as well as new character to the series Sho Minazuki—will be released in Japanese arcades in winter 2013.
The story takes place a few days after Persona 4 Arena. It apparently involves a new tournament appearing on the Midnight Channel called the “P-1 Climax” and, afterwards, a mysterious red fog begins to cover Inaba, people start to disappear and an image of Mitsuru Kirijo being crucified appears on TV. SEES and the Investigation Team work together to save Mitsuru and discover what is behind the events that are occurring.
A new location test for the game was also announced that will take place from September 27 to September 29.
