September 15, 2021 represents the 5th anniversary since the original Japanese release of Persona 5 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, on September 15, 2016.
To celebrate, Persona series character designer Shigenori Soejima has released a commemorative piece of art featuring the Persona 5 protagonist and Morgana.
Persona 5 was originally announced on November 24, 2013. The game was released approximately two years later in Japan and on April 4, 2017 in the West to great success, with around 3.2 million copies shipped worldwide as of December 3, 2019.
