Persona 5 Royal Details on New Persona Name for Haru, New Mementos Mechanics, Akechi Confidant

This week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine will include an 8-page feature on Persona 5 Royal, focused on Morgana, Makoto Niijima, Futaba Sakura, and Haru Okumura, as well as their new personas.

Following the preview for it, the key details from the magazine have leaked.

Many of these details were previously included in the Morgana’s Report #4 video released last week.

New Personas

  • Morgana’s new persona is called “Diego.”
  • Makoto Niijima’s new persona is called “Agnes.”
  • Futaba Sakura’s new persona is called “Al Azif.”
  • Haru Okumura’s new persona is called “Lucy.”

Goro Akechi

  • His Confidant has been revisited. It will feature new events and abilities, and instead of an automatic rank up, the progression of his Confidant will be made manually.
  • The abilities of Akechi’s Confidant are used to identify enemy resistances at the start of battle.
  • Akechi has a completely honest relationship with the main character.

New Events

  • Futaba’s mother appears.
  • Makoto’s father wins the Superintendent General Award.
  • Haru accompanies her father.

New Palace

  • An unknown palace appears, based on a university campus or a research institute.

New Mementos Character José

  • The new character José (voiced by Yukiko Morishita) appears; a mysterious boy encountered in Mementos.
  • José rides in a car and uses flowers found in Mementos to study humans.

New Mementos Elements

  • New requests have been added.
  • New elements adding unpredictability to dungeon exploration have been added such as the sudden appearance of strong enemies or complete darkness preventing you from seeing.
  • Stamps can be found everywhere. Collect them and hand them to José.
  • Stamps can be given to José to change the cognition within Mementos. These customizations let players increase the amount of experience points gained, money, or other bonuses.
  • Collect flowers and give them to José in exchange for items.
  • If you collect 3 “Ishi” items spread throughout a Palace, you can create an accessory with a unique skill. However, even if an Ishi is missing, you can exchange them to obtain a large amount of flowers.
