Persona 5 Royal Ranks 5th in UK Sales Charts for Opening Week

Persona 5 Royal, the enhanced remake of the original RPG, was released for the PS4 in the West last week on March 31, 2020. According to European sales tracker GfK Chart-Track, Persona 5 Royal ranked 5th among the top 10 best selling games in the United Kingdom for the past week (ending on April 4th).

The retail sales tracked are only physical, so these rankings don’t include digital downloads. Despite the nationwide lockdown, GamesIndustry reports that physical video games sales have actually increased in the UK.

The original Persona 5, released on April 4, 2017 in the West, had topped the sales charts for its opening week in the UK, with the series’ biggest launch in the region.

Persona 5 Royal topped the sales charts for its opening week in Japan, as well as Taiwan and South Korea. A report for the sales of the RPG in the United States of America will be made available later this month.

Persona 5 Royal was released on The PS4 in Japan on October 31, 2019, with a Traditional Chinese and Korean release on February 20, 2020. It was released in the West on March 31, 2020.
