The latest game in the Persona series, developed in collaboration between Atlus’ Persona Team and Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force, is called Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers in Japan. This action RPG has not been announced for English localization, as of yet.

However, in Nintendo’s earnings release reported in October 2019, a section reserved for third-party publishers listed the upcoming Persona game with the title “Persona 5 Strikers.” This was a potential indication at an English title for the game, changed from the original Japanese.

Now, SEGA Games has registered a trademark as of December 3, 2019 with a logo for “Persona 5 Strikers.” This is a strong indication of what could be the English title and logo for the game.

Previous Persona Title Changes

Persona 4 Arena in 2012 was changed from its Japanese title “Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena.” Subsequently, there was Persona 4 Arena Ultimax in 2014, changed from “Persona 4: The Ultimax in Ultra Suplex Hold” in Japanese.

Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night” and “Persona 5: Dancing Star Night” were changed to Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight.

Persona 5 The Royal” had been changed to Persona 5 Royal for the upcoming English release on March 31, 2020.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers will be released for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch on February 20, 2020 in Japan.
