Having sold over 2.7 million copies and won numerous game awards, Persona 5 The Royal is a remake of the original Persona 5 with the addition of many new elements.

The Royal will feature a new third semester, along with new events involving daily school life and the Phantom Thieves.

It will feature the addition of two new characters.

Kasumi Yoshizawa (Voice: Sora Amamiya)

A beautiful girl who enters Shujin Academy the same spring that the protagonist transfers in. She’s been an award-winning rhythmic gymnast since middle school and Shujin Academy has high hopes for her future. She likes the protagonist, but rejects the Phantom Thieves. It’s unknown whether she will be an enemy or an ally

Takuto Maruki (Voice: Satoshi Hino)

A part-time school counsellor that was appointed after the April incident with a certain teacher, out of concern for the students. The students seem to be fond of him, because he’s a good listener and gives tactful advice.

Experience the new “Third Semester”

A big bullet point will be the addition of the “third semester,” telling an untold story from Persona 5. Although detailed information has not been revealed yet, there will be new characters and events, such as the January 1st “Hatsumode” (first shrine visit of the new year).

A mysterious young man who uses the first person pronoun “wagahai”. Their manner of speech and appearance seems familiar…?
There are also many new events added, such as “Hatsumode” in whifh the women wear refined clothing.

New Student Life and Thief Life

The student life will be further enhanced with the addition of the new area “Kichijoji,” another neighbourhood in Tokyo. The twins from the Velvet Room will also be able to go out.

Walk around the new map Kichijoji. What’s going on at the shopping district?

Even the twins who only resided within the “Velvet Room” can go out.

New date spots have also been added, such as the aquarium. What kind of conversations can take place here?

Life of the Phantom Thieves

Not only is it the peaceful student life that is being enhanced. Dungeons seem to have all sorts of strange events, such as new strong enemies and mechanics.

Ryuji is surprised at the new powerful enemy: Kyouma. It seems that battles won’t be straightforward.

An alarm indicating a warning in the quiet cell! I’d like to see what’s going on in the game as soon as possible!

Not only Palaces, but Mementos seems to have various additional elements…?

The official P5R website has been updated, including additional screenshots. New information on the game will be released on May 9, 2019.
