Pre-loading has been made available for Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night on the Japanese PlayStation Network, and data mining the game files have resulted in a discovery for what are potentially assets that will be used for Persona Q2.
Recently, it was announced that there would be 37 “chibi” Persona character accessories for the playable characters in the upcoming rhythm games, featuring Persona Q-like models on the top of the dancers’ heads.
These chibi accessories will be released as DLC in July 2018.
The newest discovery made through parsing the game files is that chibi Persona 5 character models will be part of these accessories. The textures are of the same format as the ones for the original Persona Q.
The textures are of low quality, because they are designed for small models, emblematic of how they would be used for models in Persona Q2—slated for the Nintendo 3DS—if it were to have the same aesthetic as the original game released in 2014.
Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night will be released for the PS4 and PS Vita on May 24, 2018 in Japan.
Persona Q2 is slated for a Japanese release on the Nintendo 3DS in 2018.
