
Sega Sammy has released their annual report 2016, within which they have outlined the total worldwide unit sales of the three most significant Atlus franchises.

Persona
According to this new report, the Persona series has sold a total of 6.9 million units (packaged and digital) worldwide as of 2016, since it debuted 20 years ago.
It was reported that the franchise had sold over 6 million copies WW in May 2015, and this 2016 report shows 700k units more than it sold in last year’s annual report, which only included a packaged total amount.
Previously, it was reported that Persona 5 became the best selling game in Atlus history, in Japan, with 438k copies sold and 550k copies shipped.

Megami Tensei
The Megami Tensei series of games accounts for 7.2 million units sold worldwide as of 2016 (packaged and digital) since its debut 29 years ago. This is 200k more than the number reported in the annual report 2015.
Previously, it was reported that Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse debuted with 96k copies sold in Japan.
Etrian Odyssey
The Etrian Odyssey series accounts for 1.5 million copies sold worldwide as of 2016 (packaged and digital) since its debut 9 years ago. This is 300k more than the number reported in the annual report 2015.
Previously, it was reported that Etrian Odyssey V debuted with 92k copies sold in Japan.
