Found via Gematsu editor Sal Romano via Resetera, a user by the name of Xun (电动浪客鲁迅) on the Chinese forum A9VG has teased the existence of a “complete edition” re-release of Shin Megami Tensei V.

They teased the existence of the game through a cryptic animated GIF, featuring an image from the “Shin Megami Tensei Online Live 2021: Reason of Music” concert, edited with the Shin Megami Tensei V world map, occasionally flashing the word “Complete Edition” in the style of Shin Megami Tensei 1.

Xun is known for teasing upcoming announcements in this style, and has previously correctly teased the date when an Armored Core trailer would be released, the title of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, among a number of other things.

Other Hints at a Shin Megami Tensei V Re-release

In 2021, Shin Megami Tensei V was part of a leaked Nvidia Gforce Now database, Nvidia’s PC streaming service, which contained a large number of unannounced games at the time. Also listed from Atlus was Catherine: Full Body, which has yet to receive a PC port.

Datamines of Shin Megami Tensei V at launch also found reference to the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.

Upcoming Events

Atlus is currently celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Shin Megami Tensei series, which is to include an upcoming concert at Anime Expo on July 1st, 2023. Atlus has stressed, however, that there will be no announcements at this event.

Shin Megami Tensei V was released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on November 11, 2021 in Japan and November 12, 2021 worldwide.
