Four years ago, a new Vanillaware project was teased through 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue. Today, during a Nintendo Direct for September 2023, the game has been officially revealed as Unicorn Overlord, for a March 8, 2024 release date. The game will be released for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
As another Vanillaware title in collaboration with Atlus, Unicorn Overlord is a fantasy strategy RPG where the forces of good take on a great evil. It feature Vanillaware’s high-definition graphics, characters, a flexible field to explore, and innovative tactical combat.
Unicorn Overlord will feature English, German, French, Spanish and Italian language supportn.
Director George Kamitani previously stated that Unicorn Overlord is one of Vanillaware’s biggest titles created.

Limited Edition
The “Monarch Edition” of Unicorn Overlord has been announced for Japan, including:
- Deluxe Special Box: A special box designed by Vanillaware.
- 16-bit Arranged Music Album: An album produced by Basiscape featuring arranged tracks from the game in 16-bit as a 2 CD set.
- Art Book: Featuring character illustrations, backgrounds, concept art and more with a total of 132 pages.
- Original Card Game: A set for a completely original card game created by Vanillaware that can be played with 2 to 4 people.

In addition to a Standard edition, a *Collector’s edition of Unicorn Overlord will include the physical Unicorn Overlord game, a Premium Edition Box, 16-bit BGM Soundtrack CD (two discs with ten tracks on each), a 132-page artbook and an original card game featuring 239 cards, tokens and markers.
First-Print Bonus
Those who purchase the first-print copies of the game or pre-order the digital versions will get a DLC set that allows players to customize their army’s flag with the emblems of Odin Sphere, Dragon’s Crown, or 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
The Collector’s edition will also include the ATLUS X Vanillaware Heraldry Pack, a pre-order DLC, which lets you customize the Liberation Army’s flag with emblem designs from Odin Sphere, Dragon’s Crown and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
