Sega Sammy has released the company’s Fiscal Year Ending March 2025 first quarter (consisting of April, May, June 2024) financial results. As with previous earnings reports, Sega has outlined the company’s tentpole game series sales, including Persona.
According to the financial results, the Persona series sold approximately 790k units worldwide (including digital and physical sales) in April, May, and June 2024. This mainly comes from repeat sales of Persona 5 Royal (Remaster) in October 2022, and the newly released Persona 3 Reload on February 2, 2024.
The Persona series sold 5.06 million copies in the previous fiscal year from April 2023 to the end of March 2024.
As reported in April 2023, the Persona series had sold 3.27 million copies last year, from the beginning of April 2022 to the end of March 2023.
Sega outlines that sales and profits for the “entertainment content” business increased for this period of year compared to last year, due in part because of the performance of new games like Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and repeat sales like Unicorn Overlord and Persona 5 Royal (Remaster). This led to a 34% increase in total net sales.
Previous Persona Sales Milestones
In March 2024, Atlus announced that the Persona series had sold over 22 million units worldwide. As of December 2023, the Persona 5 series alone (including Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Strikers, and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight) has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
